Lance and Martha Wetmore operated Bittersweet Farm in Bethany, Connecticut for more than 35 years. A family horsemanship tradition began in the 1940s with Lance's father and grew from a hobby into a business.

Their daughter Shauna Perry continued the legacy of Bittersweet Farm when she took over ownership and head training duties in 2014. A lifelong horsewoman, Shauna grew up showing Morgans under her parent’s guidance throughout her junior exhibitor career. As a professional, she has trained and shown numerous successful competitors to championships on the CHSA and Tri-State circuits in the Jumper, Western Pleasure, Hunter/English Pleasure, and Versatility divisions, including being named Tri-State Versatility Champion for three consecutive years. Since joining the Bittersweet team, Shauna has continued to instill the pride, love, and work ethic of being a successful rider and horsewoman in her students.

Bittersweet Farm is conveniently located in southern Connecticut, with easy highway access from the Hartford, New Haven, and New York City areas.
